With a difference.  This one is called Curiosity, and he likes biscuits.

Looking for a statement wall?

Then you can't go too far wrong with this beautiful mis-matched geometric wallpaper.  There are three paterns, Jewel, Ash and Sombre, in pastels, jewel tones and monochrome from surface pattern designer Kirath Ghundoo.  It's on the pricey side at £140 per roll, but you save on the fact that with no repeat pattern to match to, there's no wastage.  And it looks amazing.  Worth every penny. www.kirathghundoo.com

Symmetry be gone.

I liked this article on www.houzz.com. I'm a great fan of random style artwork hanging, and surrounding yourself with your favourite things - doesn't have to be art to make it onto the walls in our household (provided it looks good)!

Take a look at the article...

... or here's a quick summary.

The key to hanging random objects/art is to keeping the arrangement loose but the spacing tight, so the overall effect is one large focal point.  Repeat key elements - colours, materials, shapes - for a casual yet pulled together look.  The placement in this doorway is balanced, yet not perfectly symmetrical, giving a casual feel.

The pictures here are in frames of the same material which brings it together.  And contrary to common belief, filling a wall with art to the ceiling can actually make a room look taller.

This montage includes art and wall hugging furniture, extended down the wall and up.  Also you can defy convention by hanging vintage photographs with contemporary canvasses.

Here colourful artwork picks up the colour scheme of the room - pinks, browns and aquas lift the otherwise all white decor.  Large scale pieces in the middle are surrounded by smaller frames for one big focal point.

Frames hung at random on an architecturally defunct wall - gives you the freedom to add more art on a whim!

Experiment and enjoy.

Home office, in limited space...

I've been working on a home office for a very small space within a family room - and have found loads of inspiration on pinterest.  Here are my favourites (there seems to be a bit of black and white theme going on, not quite sure why...)
